I have to say i disagree. I loved this movie but i don't think it's for children. It is different from the book by far but it shows human emotion. I work with children and it is so true that when they are not heard they grow wild and they live only by the truths they are able to create. Maxx's whole i own the world and i am king shows him finding a place for himself and perhaps a meaning but then he realizes it's not his world to rule and that he has to return to his own. His mother finally listens to him and he is heard . The wild things all reflected the kind of people we all know in life. They were grim pessimistic and untrusting. Carol is wild because nothing seems to go right and his hopes are often crushed much like maxx. Two worlds with different problems with similar emotions and displacement. I think parents need to watch this more then their children it makes a good point.

I actually love the movie folks. You cant really compare the book and the movie. the book is like 10 pages long. and they made a creative movie out of it. I said the line "the book is better'' at the end credits at the movie theater and everyone laughed :)

I just had to read this one.. I can remember being in grade 1 and a resource teacher had me do my own rendtion of Where the Wild Things Are.. only faint memories of this from long ago.. but it started me on a journey of passion towards reading and writing that still burns and churns deep within my soul. Have to see this movie.. books are always better cause you can see the thoughts and descriptive words that bring in elements that you can miss on the screen. Thank you for sharing!
