A Poem by Crazy Cat Man

I'm Not a book for you to read and put down
I'm not a Movie for you to just watch and see
I'm not one of those bootleg DVDs
I am real don't you see

My life story is not for your entertainment
My obstacles are not for your engagement
My sadness is not for your enjoyment
So why do you bother getting close to me?

I am not a puppet here for your amusement
I am not a comedian to make you laugh
I am not an insurance policy to replace your boyfriend
No I don't think we should be friends

So please put me down
don't read me anymore
just let me be
And I'll let you be too

Wow! This is so simple yet so deep. It's like life. We have experienced this with people. As we go down the road, people won't take us as we are. We are sometimes "used" for their own advantage. Why can't people realize that, like them, we want same thing from life? Unfortunately, they have unfailingly looked at us as some faces in the crowd---never to be given importance.

This is a great read.

I guess you've been too much taken for granted :O

Well as the queen of heartbreak poems (apparently im in a rut), I really like this, it is far more creative than anything ive done. Nicely written and powerful. Like how you used the book as a symbol. Bravo my friend. PS, I miss you.

Ooooo, I really like this. It's almost like you are giving a verbal slap in the face. I really liked how this reads. It just kinda pours onto the page. Like it isn't supposed to have rhyme and reason, just a reflection of th turbulante emotions you feel at being so used. This is a really good piece.

This is a unique piece of writing. I know how it feels to be used and thrown away like a flithy rag. You conveyed those emotions beautifully. Thanks for sharing.

now this is the right decition. I once have read a book which offered exactly the same advice. great writing, I liked best the 2nd stanza... sometimes we need to put a fence around us to gain peace of mind and open our heart for a new life episode.

I'm the biggest bookworm ever, so the title was like meth to me. Then I read it and was like "Damn. That's amazing." So my critique: Damn! That's pretty amazinng! One of my faves from you :)
