A poem about the Sandusky cover up

A crime has been committed
But it was omitted
They didn't want to admit it
Because it was someone powerful who did it
the crime has been consealed
No one wanted it to be revealed
the screams of a child
No one wanted to hear
They cared more about football
Than a little boy being nailed on a wall
They cared more about an Institution
Than the lives of children
A predator was on the loose
He did whatever he wanted to do
And everyone knew
Joe Paterno cared more about his legacy
Than confronting Sandusky
Now his name is ruined in infamy
And it deserves to be
The victims will forever be scarred
Their lives are ripped apart
We were too late to protect them
All of this could have been prevented
At least now the predator is in jail
Hopefully he will burn in hell
He will rot in his prison cell
Such a shame this went on for so long
Let this be a lesson
For anyone who wants to cover up
If you don't speak up
Then your time is up

Whats sad is I went to Penn State and was proud as hell until this sh it. Yeah... Now we should tackle the catholic priest. If Sandusky was one he probably could have gotten away with it. Good write tho.

Ok so, I haven't heard about the story so I can't talk about it, what I can instead do, is comment your poem:
It is interesting, the sounds were beautiful especially at the beginning with all the rhymes, the more you went on the less you cared about it, but you didn't leave us with anything, you trade the perfect sounds with deeper pathos and strongest messages, in fact the verses are set up in order to make the "sound quality" decrease every verse and the pathos and efficacy of the message increase. You've also shown us your personal opinion, you gave us a "fragment" of your moral identity which is great =D Amoung all these people here in WC, you're definitely the one I see as the more "socially committed" (your poems don't speak just to us as people, but to us as society, you point out what's wrong and you're not afraid of showing how you feel about certain phenomena, that's great, your pen is your sword, and the society's flaws your enemies).

It's funny what people in power choose is most important: making money or abuse,etc.,etc. I like the way that you wrote this. It's a great work, and I like that you took on a more serious subject matter. Keep it up(:

ugh. I took this whole Penn State scandal personal becuz it hurt children so I cannot forgive anyone who decides to ignore the abuse of children. its unforgivable. its sad but true, my heart is sad for the victims

Seems like a lot of people from other countries haven't heard about this story. But it was a big American scandal.
