Nighttime Monsters

Nighttime Monsters

A Poem by CRP

Teeth as sharp as knives
And the length of my arm!
They have taken many lives,
And caused so much harm!

Eyes that glow in the dark,
And looks that promise danger,
More dangerous than any shark,
And can hide behind a hanger.

They only come out when it’s dark,
Crawling out from where they’ve hidden.
Their bites are worse than their bark,
As they come out as if bidden.

But oh look, the light has come back,
Keeping me from becoming a snack.
