Beneath the Floor

Beneath the Floor

A Poem by KL
"

Everything about this life is speculation... don't play it off as fact.

"

Time to take a look, past the web and dust,
This life is all dimensions--forgotten
Lies take on the form of ghosts, without trust;
But there is the Thinker, thinking rotten
Thoughts that linger back and forth, finding faith.
Digging deeper, searching for the headless;
It worms its way through time, through frozen space,
Around stars, suns, slaves, hiding from success.
Finally found, the answer lies in cracks,
Inside a mirror of a mirror, glass
And body impeding a hand of black;
Tempting, touching, but the truth has no mass.
The Thinker thinking upon a glass floor,
Not the while knowing his mind and more.

Wonderful. I'm amazed you wrote this when you were sixteen. It's very thought provoking and I love your word choice.

Great piece- sonnets are ridiculously hard, haha. Much better than anything I could write, and you were younger than I am now. :)
Wonderful word choices and rhythm.

Definitely exquisite. Wonderful writing, and the ending just works. It's great. The flow is fantastic. My favorite lines were,
"Finally found, the answer lies in cracks,
Inside a mirror of a mirror, glass
And body impeding a hand of black;
Tempting, touching, but the truth has no mass.
The Thinker thinking upon a glass floor,
Not the while knowing his mind and more."

WOW! Truly excellent love :) This is fabulous!
Everything grounded then flying, surreality inspected, light in truth? Is all reality or is there something else tangible?
This is excellent, I LOVE this!

Wow, it's amazing. It's dark and ominous too. I can't believe you wrote this when you were 16! Great.
