Somewhere Only He Knows.

Somewhere Only He Knows.

A Poem by Unforgettable1230

His hand reaches for the volume.
Eyes are intent on the screen.
The room is vibrating.
Shadows shivering.
He's somewhere else right now,
Somewhere I can't reach him.
My concentration on him is intense.
He doesn't notice.
He shuts his eyes
and then he's gone.

That's it.
Nothing left to say.

A deep meaningful poem about life and the lies we are told on a daily bases via the media. And how the majority of the population believe everything they see and hear.

Pithy commentary on how silence reveals poignant truths. Today's soaps are an insult to the glory of microtechnology anyway. He chose to doze because TV numbs the brain. Before electricity, the ladies sat and knitted in silence, and the guys whittled in silence -- each lost in thought. Whatever was missing at home, it's still missing. I sit alone in silence these days, maybe so I can hear the echoes of my own thoughts about being alone in a crowd. Sometimes I write them down between dozes but am not always sure why. Good work, poet.

In front of the TV? I like the distraction from the actual meaning.
