Nuclear War.

Nuclear War.

A Poem by Sherratt133
"

A poem/song detailing (in my mind) what would happen in the event of nuclear war.

"
Peace talks with the Chinese Chairman and the Arabian President have failed,
resulting in continuing violence towards Europeans and Americans across the entire Asian continent.
The situation in China and the Middle East is becoming even more dire, So the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of England are convening with other major powers in an unspecified location in Europe, in order to come to an agreement on employing the nuclear warheads.
Thick runs the blood of the earth.
Running deep beneath arabian sand.
Decades of cooperation tossed aside.
Martial Power, new law of the land.

Men are instinctively selfish.
Extortion is frequently employed.
How much are you willing to pay?
For there is famine to avoid.

Reliant on fuels to run everything.
They saw no different choice.
We will use force to get what we need.
Shouts a patriotic western voice.

Today is the day that diplomacy failed.
They tried to hide the cracks, so thinly veiled.
Your nations were a parody of themselves.
Right to trust no one. You could only save yourselves.

Build shelters, Hide from explosions.
Rise and build after the bombs have dropped.
After the dust of death has settled.
After the hearts of billions had stopped.
Cities desolate, barren, lifeless.
Rebuild with the bones of the dead.
Survivors need an infrastructure.
Or chaos will grow and spread.
Hopefully now you notice.
There's no victor in a nulear war.
Send in troops to fight your battles.
Don't use atoms to settle a score.
That was the day that diplomacy failed.
That was the day, destruction was detailed.
Your nations have crumbled and disintergrated.
You could do nothing, the bombs were anticipated.

I believe man is foolish. Will take a country releasing a nuclear warhead and killing millions for this world to learn. We are one on this planet. We share the air, the water and the gifts of food. I pray for wise men and woman to be leaders and walk away from war and hate. Not for me. For all the children being born and needing the opportunity to live in a safe world. A powerful poem. We are walking on a edge of destruction and few are caring?
