Votre Vie

Votre Vie

A Poem by Sherratt133

Getting lost in dark dreams.
And nothing's as it seems.
Searching this desolate land.
We'll get out, so take my hand.

Scanning this place for words left unsaid.
How could I have just left them, for dead.
You know we'll get away, Trust me.
There's hope for us yet, You'll see.

Garde les souvenirs proches de ton c"ur.
(Keep the memories close to your heart.)
Laisse les te garder au chaud durant ces nuits glaciales.
(Let them keep you warm on these cold nights.)
Le plus longtemps tu t’attardes sur ce qui aurait pu être.
(The longer you dwell on what might have been.)
Tu realiseras a quel point tu n’as rien fait de ta vie.
(
You will realise how little you have done with your life.)

On the horizon, a glimmer of hope.
Forget it, hoist the rope.
The coward tires and ties his noose.
You've traversed these plains. But it's no use.

Goodbye my lover, My ally, My friend.
A sweet farewell to a bitter end.
I wish I could stay for one more day.
But my time here has ended, And I cannot stay.

Man . . . that's wonderful, the way it's tied up at the ending (no pun intended). Nothing brings a man closer to the Truth of his life and his heart like standing upon a gallows with the noose coming down over his neck. He just looks up, closes his eyes and prepares to kneel before God . . .
