The Dark Before The Dawn

The Dark Before The Dawn

A Poem by Sherratt133

Lying on the floor.
Beneath the bed,
With sad thoughts and lonely images.
Circling her head.

Heart-broken.
First time love.
He told her they'd be forever.
But words are not enough.

She tore up the letters.
Like he tore up her heart.
He said goodbye.
And went to depart.

Heart-broken.
First time love.
He told her they'd be forever.
But words are not enough.

Her first love had come and gone.
The black night comes before the dawn.
There's a soothing light at the end of the tunnel.
Be patient and you'll reach it.

The young girl found her shining prince.
Not 2 months after.
She was treated right, and treated well.
Life gets better, can't you tell.
