My Broken Dreams and Petty Schemes

My Broken Dreams and Petty Schemes

A Poem by Sherratt133

Woke up to the sound of screams,
Coming from the hall of broken dreams,
All because of my petty schemes,
Life's torn open, from its weak seams.

There's a soothing light outside the door,
Like a shipwreck survivor, floating to shore,
I see a slither and I beg for more,
But clearly my pleas did it ignore.

Looking into the eye of the storm,
Shivers down my spine,
Like being bitten by a swarm,
My life is in decline.

The cracks in the mirror are clear,
They show my time is done soon here,
My part's been played, I'm full of fear.
Almost time to go, she sounded so sincere.

I think you'll find my little note,
In plain sight on the bed,
Left for you to denote,
And I'll be watching overhead.

A nice piece.
I reckon you should spend a bit more time on it; perfecting the rhythm etc... Js.
Still good though. ;]
