Material Girls?

Material Girls?

A Poem by Sherratt133
"

A song about my thoughts on fame and fortune..

"

Always reaching higher,

A self proclaimed messiah,
You grab for gold and you grab for fame
We see your never satisfied.

Looking down from your pedestal.
Your not god, never will be.

Your just dirt, Your nothing.

Why don't you loosen your grip.

We'd like to see you slip,

Quit your arrogance and your greed,

We try to keep you satisfied.

Looking down from your pedestal.
Your not god, not even close.

Your just dirt, Your nothing.

Like a crow chasing shiny things,
Like platinum chains and diamond rings,

Out to make a name for yourself.

Sold your soul to get what you want.

Its YOUR life,

your precious time,

And you've wasted it.
Chasing dreams,

and fickle glory,

is what you did.

Now you lay six feet under,

Where now is your plunder,

All that trouble for nothing?

Well..... Was it?
