Through Your Facade

Through Your Facade

A Poem by Sherratt133
"

A little note to a "Plastic" at my school

"
Now, I know that we all wear masks.
Let me see you take yours off.
Now, Take a look at the past.
I know you want to hate me.

Now, I know what lies beneath.
Under fake smiles and empty laughs.
Now, I see who you really are.
I know the differences in you.
I see what no-one else see's.
I know what no-one else knows.
I smell the stench of deception.
I hear the lies spewing from your mouth.
Now, I see inside that swirling void.
That which you call your heart.
Now, I see all your fakery.
I see right through your facade.

I see what no-one else see's.
I know what no-one else knows.
I smell the stench of deception.
I understand the emptiness of popularity.

You're vying for acceptance, through fakery.
Show everyone who you truly are.
Take off that mask, Its not that hard.
Desist in this game, Desist your facade.

Now, I know what your really like.
Everyone will see you for who you are.
Now, I hope you'll change your ways.
'Cause your not all that bad.

In my opinion, all of those "plastics" are products of the society's ideal of how women should be; from the branded colour pink, to a clear difference between male and female toys, and a rather a clear message in the media etc etc (I could go on forever), it is more than obvious that male population (and the world itself) wants women to be these dumb, pretty, skinny, cooking, cleaning, obedient, opinion-less, child-bearing sex objects. It is rather sad that most females fall under the pressure, or simply don't realise that they are pressured to be that way because they were brought up that way.

...and I could go on ranting forever, but I'll stop now :D

I like this poem. Quite simple if I may say, but straight to the point... And I think I know who you're on about...
