Songbird

Songbird

A Poem by Sherratt133

I trek across these sands.
Wander through these infinite wastelands.
All in the effort to hear your voice again.
I'm gonna find your light, even if I don't know when.

Looking up at the bright blue skies, no clouds in sight.
Stare as time and dust it flies, the sun so bright.
Humming the song that you used to sing, when we were alone.
Knowing in my heart that your song will guide me straight back home.

As you call my name.
Soothe each and every pain.
Rekindle the dying flame.
Songbird.

Finally give me purpose.
Finally give me life.
Finally give me something.
To save me from my strife.

Will you tell me, Where I came from?
Are you an angel from above, Or something from below so dark?
Will you tell me, What this life means?
And why does all we love, have to die?
