Urban Trees

Urban Trees

A Poem by Coyote Song
"

A snap shot of urban trees.

"
Urban summer
trees deeply green
leaves flutter in the hot air
car exhaust hovers
invisible
cloud like
choking
the trees live on
as summer becomes fall
their colors turn fiery
the leaves fall
caught up in huge swirls
as the cars drive by
the dried leaves scatter
cold sets in
the trees stark and bare
seeming to claw against
a dull white sky
patient all winter
still there
as the season changes once again
buds tight and waiting
for spring

Seasons. I think this is really wonderful. It reminded me of some paintings I saw one time. The artist painted the same scene each seasons. IT was amazing. This was too.

Nicely done. I like the imagery, good visuals of trees upon changing seasons.

This is really nice. I often wonder how trees can survive growing along side busy roads. They are much heartier than we think, perhaps. I enjoyed your poem.
