Beauty In Blight

Beauty In Blight

A Poem by Coyote Song
"

Wildflowers in a blighted urban zone.

"
driving along the four lane street
ugly strip malls and car lots for miles
I sigh
hating the city at this moment
it's too hot
the sun glares on all the steel, glass and metal
the concrete is burning
then I notice
a sidewalk curb
with beautiful bobbing native wildflowers
splashes of blue, red, yellow, oranges and whites
and long swaying green grasses
I sigh again
thinking this sight
saved my sanity
on this unpleasant urban day

very well done. I like the imagery and the words of comparison from city to country.
