This Dark Night

Trying for a dark poem.

deep at night
a scratching at my door
I won't answer
its October Thirty-First
the veil is very thin this night
between the living and the dead
my friends would knock
only the dead would scratch

I don't do much in dark poems but once in the while I fell like giving it a shot.
