Weeping Willow Tree

Weeping Willow Tree

A Poem by Coyote Song

Weeping Willow Tree
- dreaming -
thin leafy branches
swaying in the spring breeze
red winged black birds
singing
singing
maybe about me
as beneath the willow tree
I dream
spring into summer
here in my little paradise
down by the stream
beneath my weeping willow tree
deep into its leafy embrace
I dream

right now pondering how Siddhartha found it comfortable meditating under the bodhi tree for quite a stretch of time without stirring. this lyrical piece sort of parallel to the bliss one would feel as s/he is attuned with natural world. there are no willows here in my country, but i'll try to meditate in a shade of a nice cozy mango tree, which is an abundance here, and your poem memorized by heart...

Got 2 huge willows on my yard, and I sort of wrote a poem in which one of them played a part on it! Two little birds. Nice job on this one! Your description is poetically accurate. Specially the embrace!

You're welcome. :)
This is so very beautiful and tranquil. It brings to memory my times spent beneath a very large and old weeping willow tree at a local park where I grew up and the blackbirds flocked there and sang their odd yet beautiful voices. It was net to body of water too. A lovely place to dream away a warm spring afternoon. Outstanding poem. I like the style.

Thanks!
Coyote writes very well, this reminds me of a Japanese lithograph, excellently sketched, quiet, a poem of
understatment ( in a positive sense ) and beauty, fine job
