Waiting For Spring

waiting for spring
with green buds
dreaming
of
warmth
sunshine
bird song
waiting for spring
dreaming

I open my eyes
looking
seeing
cold rain
splattering down
on the parking lot
trash scattered
a lone seagull
I'm waiting
for my friend to return
so I can
get home
