SuperGirl

SuperGirl

A Poem by Eliza Pleasant
"

People think that you are happy all the time. Have great friendships, and everything. But that's only for Super Girls. Enjoy!

"
I stand here alone,
On my perch,
With nothing but fond memories
And great hopes.

The world around me goes on,
Not even sneaking a peek at me.
They see the smiling, sarcastic girl,
Knowing they don't have to worry about her.

But they forget the times when the girl is human.
When she lets the sky bear down on her,
And the waves beat against her:
They forget when she isn't invincible.

When I am here,
When I live on hope,
I yearn to see that one person,
Who sees that I am not Supergirl.
