Lineman's Last Climb

Lineman's Last Climb

A Poem by Re'al McNameson
"

A poem dealing with the loss of some of those I've loved along the way.

"

Dear God,

If this is to be my last climb,

when it comes to be my time,

Allow the pole to up and rise,

Well beyond the domain of sky,

So when it is that I crest the top,

When this pole comes to stop,

The pearly gate, allow me to see,

And in Heaven let me be.

So when you look to the sky at night,

When you see those stars so bright,

And all humanity is bathed in light,

Know that the lineman does not rest,

And that he still does his very best,

To get the power down the line,

For to ensure the stars always shine.

(Laughter/Storm, the humorous one)

(Emotions/Free, the dark, deep, introspective one)

Author's Note

Re'al McNameson
This was resultant of my losing a friend, coworker, and mentor whilst slaving to the trade. Guys like me, don't express feeling often, but it is nessaecary to unleash emotional turmoil. I felt it was only proper to precede my writing here, with this poem, as it is the forerunner of all my artistic, literary, lyrical, textual, poetic, and eloquently presented presentations. I hope you enjoyed it, and to hear from you soon.
