Black Hole

Black Hole

A Poem by G. Anderson

putrid. acid in your throat.

suffocation around your chest.

melancholy.

birds, hanged in trees by little wings...

tweeting, but no sound.

magnified drops of water, spilling

over the wall and into the darkness.

the black hole consuming anything and everything;

we will never know where it all ends up.

this black hole in your heart...

GREEDY.

envy and hatred and anger and poison.

endless in size, fathomless in destruction.

arms flailing, ripping holes in friendships and loved

ones.

you didn't mean to--you were only trying to catch

yourself from falling, and instead, untied the bonds of love.

so lonely. no one near your heart...

you're afraid they'll be sucked into the mass as well.

all this pain, and grief, and anger....

will one day become,

supermassive.

maybe it'll collapse into itself,

receding to the bitter

thoughts and memories...

or perhaps it will become so

uncontrollable and anguished,

everyone surrounding will

be pulled into the

nothingness.

and I'll not give a damn.
