Nightmares of the Century

Nightmares of the Century

A Poem by G. Anderson
"

Brought to life from the many nightmares that plague me... and keep me from escaping this reality at all.

"
They roam the frosted blades of grass
when the moon is a galleon in the night canvas...
Feeding on the fear of these lost people,
the thoughts of murder, hate, loss
and pain suffocating;
a thick blanket of blackness in the dead of the night.

Their mouths are jagged gaping holes of glass
and metal, and a silent shriek rents through the fogs,
slicing through the cloak with its serrated edges.

Little kids, and monsters lurking under beds
and in the closets...
Victims of rape, they are vague with the
pain of penetration and humiliation.
Ones who lose their loves, the thoughts simply
ooze with mortal fear and bone-crushing anxiety.

Unseen, unheard, but definitely felt...

These are the nightmares of the century.

It's so horrible that children suffer like this... and it's even more horrible that society still allows this to happen, not as much as it used to but it's still there and innocent children are still suffering. People shouldn't have to suffer like this no matter what. Your poem is brutal and blunt, so vivid and full of disturbing imagery. Such a wonderful, up-in-your face kind of poem that deserves all the respect of literature. Wonderfully written m'dear, I'm truly touched.

Horrific nightmares! Very creative with the shards of glass. Cool poem, but bad nightmares.

Hello Death Roww,

Or Gage, I do enjoy reading the works of those who are crazy. Really it's the crazy one's minds you want to explore. They are by far the most interesting. Do you have monster's under your bed, or skeletons in the closet? Do you feel humiliated or in pain? If you do...good. Nothing better than sweet suffering.

And excellent read doll...see you...soon.

Regards,

Matthew
