We All Want What We Can't Have

Never surrender freedom for the

safety of love. You will spend your days

lying

on a bare mattress. Your feet will press

against panelled walls, watching patterns on the

window from fingerprints and heavy breathing.

Never surrender love for the

spark of freedom. You will sit in

threadbare recliners and listen to

silence,

radio static and crime

dramas will be your living room company on Sunday evenings.

Either way you will be disappointed.

Life, loving is a series of contradictions. We sometimes make dismal decisions then poetically embrace them.

Last line is kind of like a punch in the throat. But you can't win if you don't play the game . :)
