Window PainA Poem by Courtney Edwards
Her heart obliterated,
debris everywhere I step. and from what I can see, no relief where it need be. Light, stricken from the sky. Darkness overwhelms the space above. An endless maze of misery, no birds of peace, the dove. You gave me insight, the small window you built for me. For me to see just what it's like on the inside. Yet no door no key. I plan to mend, once the order is given. Seems if it'll be like moving mountains, just to make amends. A healer I may seem, but a lover I am. Mountains are just a small task, rather than the task at hand. Patience is virtue, and for you I will remain true. Until you build a door and a key, instead of this window I look through. For now I'm on the outside looking in, until I'm invited within. To be the relief your heart needs, to bring your pain to an end. © 2013 Courtney Edwards |
