The Flower, The Honey Bee

The Flower, The Honey Bee

A Poem by Courtney Edwards

The flower,

Beautiful, bound to the foundation

In which it receives life, rooted.

Driven by the outside forces that keep it alive.

Alive, to live, to sprout, to mature, to blossom.

Pedals, alluring,  angelic, yet delicate to the touch.

Not a single one is less vibrant than the other

Sensitive center, the most important piece.

Regardless of the condition it always awaits

The honey bee,

A born attraction between the two.

A mutualistic relationship they both share.

One without the other cannot thrive,

and together they achieve insurmountable feats.

Yet selfish not they are, as to those that surround them

augment in the same fashion.

Bound by fate, the flower and the honey bee.

Now let's just see if you and I resemble thee.

You the flower, and I the bee.

excellente amiga. i really enjoy the way this is sectioned. the sectioning made it easily read for even my first run through. Your description of the flower was great and I really enjoyed the transitioning; how it was sudden, "The honey bee,". Just really liked it. criticism... i have none to offer. props amiga.
