Chapter 2A Chapter by CourtneyCalleChapter 2
If there’s one thing
I know, it’s that persuading is something that I am no expert in. It was March
11th, the day after my birthday. That day I had to persuade my
grandmother to allow me to explore the world, because honestly exploring the
world was my life dream. I want to live my dream in Minosis. Let me tell you a
little about Minosis. It lies in the Leona plains, which is mostly deserted
except for Minosis. There are no trees except for the ones in town. The
surrounding area is all planes. The Leona plains are known as “where the sky
meets the soil” and are famous for their breathtaking sunsets. I woke up with the
sun on my face. I dressed myself. I began to make my own breakfast. Grandmother
was sitting at the small table. I joined her with my plate. “Good morning.” I
said as I gave her a big smile before I dove into my eggs. “Good morning
Courtalia, did yah sleep well?” she smiled too. “Uh-huh. I had the
most amazing dream. It was fascinating really.” I let her have her turn as I
munch on toast. “ Well that’s good.”
a pause. “ So how do you like your gift?” “Oh, Grandmother, I love it. It’s beautiful; thanks again.”
Ah, yes my necklace. I still wear it to this day. It is a gold chain with a
gold heart charm on it. It is rounded at the edges and glimmers in the early
sun, but is slightly worn because of all the years it was kept away in hiding I
guess. “I’m glad you like
it.” A pause. She looks to me with almost a devilish smile. “You will be the
height of beauty with that necklace, as you roam the streets of Minosis, will
you not?” I am completely shocked by this! How- “Courtalia, you know well enough that I have my ways of knowing
things. One of them wanting to explore the world.” But how? I haven’t told
anyone! She looked at me all serious like. “All I ask is that you stay
today because I know it will be your last.”
She smiled again, “But you have my permission to leave tomorrow.” I was
overcome with so many rushing happy feelings. I went to her to give her a hug. “Thank you! I will
not let you down.” I promised in excitement.
