An Unjust Fate

An Unjust Fate

A Poem by Courtney

The Scarlet Letter on your chest
Screams the mistakes that were made,
Yet the situations are dressed
In lies. Circumstances fade

Into the background, forgotten,
Where outcomes do not take heed
Of the reasons behind each sin,
Showing only the misdeed.

Life separates the weak from strong.
Trials and unveiled deceit
Are set to make the right feel wrong.
As scenarios repeat,

No one has learned to remember
When caution needs to be thrown.
In tragic result, they suffer
And are left to die alone.

Judgement is passed so viciously
With little to no regard
To what intentions could be,
Leaving reputations marred.

Is there no redemption?
