A Sonnet to Mia

A Sonnet to Mia

A Poem by Courtney

Soft breezes sigh
With my back to the ocean
Lift my head high
Giving heed to emotion

The tears streak down
As I look down at myself
At my feet is the crown
The only sign of past wealth

I am refused control
My own fate out of hand
Knowing deep in my soul
As the hourglass leaks sand

My temple is no longer my own
Because Mia came in when I was prone

i really loved this. i felt that even though it was a sonnet i was able to get a story from those 14 lines. loved all the rhyme placements, it was great!
