The End.

The End.

A Poem by Courtney

Out of my grasp
Holding so tight
Death has a clasp
Marks from the bite

Close tight your eyes
Yet see all around
Open to lies
Tied to the ground

Running away
Yet staying in place
Night turns to day
Abhorrent a face

Turning it's head
Struck by the horror
Feeling the dread
Gone the adorner

Greed makes it ugly
The beautiful fear
The lock and the key
Keeping it near

Spinning in circles
All turns to blur
Luring, it pulls
None such a cure

Let go to the dark
And all will be lost
Journey embark
Stay at all cost

Heed every warning
Regard every whim
Mocking and scorning
Your light becomes dim

Stay far away
And you shall see
The dread of it all
How missed are thee

Stay by my side
Never release
Time we will bide
Allow feelings increase

Ignore all the hate
The ugly does leer
Allow self create
The end could be near

I appreciate the imagery which captured the very end when it is near. well done

I like the overall message this poem leaves. It's speaks to me of how one must always find the good in the moment, or else that moment might be lost forever in time's dance. Waiting to long and the good might be gone, and then we're left feeling despair.
I think you have a good flow to the words and the imagery is such that it makes the mind wander into the esoteric and mystical as well. Great work!
