BaseballA Poem by CourtMy favorite sportThe game of baseball Is poetry in motion The back kick on the pitcher on the mound The release of the ball through the air Batter swings and misses Ball into the catcher's mitt The crack of the bat as ball hits Bat splinters into dozens of pieces Ball sails through the air into center field It's a hit! It's a double! Runner reaches second base Waiting for the next batter to come to home plate He watches to see what he should do next. No outs Baserunner hears the crack of the bat. Watches the ball fly over his head. Darn, it has been caught! And so it goes till one team is the victor in nine innings
