God, Remember?

God, Remember?

A Poem by Country Girl47

God, do You remember that day You created me?
My baby blue eyes, were starring back at Thee?

I remember being blessed, then You kissed my cheek.
I had seen tears in your eyes, it left a wet streak.

God, just why did You ever cry?
I just don't understand why.

You don't know how hard it was to let you go, My daughter,
I wanted you to stay here with Me, your Heavenly Father.

I couldn't though, for I placed in you, wonderful qualities,
I have given you talents, for others to see.

I knew also, you'd have a rough road ahead,
By Satan and others, you would be mislead.

To this day, I've shed so many tears for you,
I've had to watch you try to take your life, too.

Until today, you never gave it completely over to Me,
My daughter, can't you see how your life now, can be?

Please understand, every word you write,
Helps those who have dark days, turn bright.

Til that day, I bring you home to be with Me,
I'll be there, no matter where it may be.

That day is drawing very near,
I'll be able to wipe away all tears.

Daughter, I'll get to see you
once again, face to face.
We will at last embrace.
all sorrow forever erased.

This is really powerful. "Please understand, every word you write/Helps those who have dark days, turn bright" is my favourite part. The only thing I can think to tell you is to just watch your rhythm, but honestly this is really good!
