Dear God

Dear God

A Poem by Country Girl47

God, don't let them take away,
what's left inside me today.
It is called my sanity
how I truly feel, they don't see.

That first time I lost my mind,
took awhile for me to find.
Trying so hard not to lose
Even try not to accuse.

But when I've been lied to,
they don't realize the hell
each and everyone of them
choose to put me through.

Each time I look in those eyes,
I can and always will see,
those lies they always tell me.
Causing much insanity.

These teardrops refuse to stop,
the truth I've known for so long.
Have this feeling in his heart,
I don't belong, can't stay strong.

Will I be able to keep,
that one thing inside of me,
or will I once again lose
That one thing called sanity?
