Shackled And Chained

Shackled And Chained

A Poem by Country Girl47

Satan had captured me one day
Threw me in a dark dungeon,
Shackled and chained to the wall.
Would not let me go free.

Bound for hell, heart black as coal.
So full of anger, pain, hate, and more.
I had no love for God, for quite some time.
I hated myself and didn't care about a thing.

I had to take a look in the mirror,
Woke up and realized, thin ice
I was on and ready to drown,
Wasn't happy anymore, I knew why.

Jesus had been knocking on my heart,
But Satan had hidden the key.
Finally accepted Him in my life to stay,
No longer bound by Satan, was set free.
