Listen Hear Doughboy

Listen Hear Doughboy

A Poem by Country Girl47

Listen here, Doughboy, your
Old lady, you cannot fool
Cheating with Mrs. Butterworth
Just is not too cool.

You try to hide the truth from me,
But her maple body spray I smell.
Red lipstick, inside your shirt
Is hers, those are ways I can tell.

Those delicious nuts you have
Added, as a special ingredient, too.
Will soon be crushed and mixed
With those crescent rolls she made for you.

Ty so much
That is awesome. Creative, funny, and honest. A woman's intuition and bullshit detection is very strong, you can never fool her.

I do think the last line in stanza one would seem more sound if it were, "Is just not cool." But that is up to you!

Ty for reading and advice.
this is my favorite. i like the humor, and the lilt of the delivery. it's my favorite kind of poems that i tend to write, around the 12 to 16 line range. the joy is in the nuance and double entendre! and to top it all off, upon reading it, now i find myself craving, and will likely end up at the jolly pirate before all is said and done. jolly pirate being our local shop where doughnuts and other pastries are to be plundered, as well as an awesome attached greek bar with gyros, dolmathes, baklava, and other goodies. maple body spray, now that's funny! :P
