Thunderstorm

Thunderstorm

A Poem by Country Girl47
"

I have always been scared of thunderstorms since I was little.

"

Layed out under the sun,
Clouds white, fluffy, sky so blue.
Layed there, watching
The kids have fun.

As I looked at the sky,
Clouds were turning gray,
Got up, went in the house
Saying, "Why'd it happen today?"

I heard a loud crackling, screamed
For lightening did strike
If only these thunderstorms,
Could have been just a dream.

You could hear the rain go
Titter tatter, on the roof, too.
Heard something go drip, drip,
In the house, not cool.

It was leaking in the kitchen
And bathroom, "Oh, great!"
I was now doomed, "What next?"
Going to have to do some fixin'.

I sat there shaking with my dog,
Lightning struck close by, it seemed.
Thunder so loud, covered my ears.
Truck pulled in, lights on high beam.

He tried to comfort me
For my man knew I was scared
I hid my head under the blanket,
Couldn't stand what I had to see.

Moon and stars were shining bright
Now I didn't feel so uptight,
For with Larry there,
Everything seemed just right.
