There I Knelt

There I Knelt

A Poem by Country Girl47

There I knelt, all alone
On my bended knees,
Right before God's throne.
I could hear Him say,
"Child, arise this day."

"Name's written in the Book of Life.
You may enter the Kingdom of Heaven
There you are free from all strife
For all your sins, have been forgiven."

Tears, you'll no longer see
Heaven is pain free
Kind words, you'll always hear
No longer have to live in fear

As I started to walk away,
I met Jesus that day.
He walked and talked with me,
On his face, a smile I did see.
The scars on his hands and feet
Even His back, that they did beat.

I finally was able to say thank you
For dying for them, and me, too.
All sins, were covered by the blood
I knew it was the right thing to do.
