Is There Really Hope

Is There Really Hope

A Poem by Country Girl46

I used to think, there was no hope for me
Just a sinner that always doubted Thee.
Too hateful and full of much misery
Hope at that time, I just couldn't see.

My mom would always dare to say,
"God still loves you, even still today
He can take all your pain away
Why not bow your head and pray?"

I've given up on everything, even life
Failed as girlfriend, mother and wife
Just couldn't deal with so much strife
Heart felt it was stabbed by a knife

One day, Jesus had stopped by to say,
"I went to die on the cross that day,
So your sins could be washed away.
Hope began then and still here today."

I knew He was right from the start
From Him I chose then to depart
Was no longer living in my heart

Knew then and there, I had to pray
Needed Him in my life to stay
I realized there was hope that day
That's the reason I'm still here today.

Your mother was very wise.
"God still loves you, even still today
He can take all your pain away
Why not bow your head and pray?"
We must see the hope in the mist of darkness. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
