Can Only Imagine

Can Only Imagine

A Poem by Country Girl46

While walking through the meadow
I came upon a huge log
Next to the fisherman's pond
I could hear the bull frog down below

That's the only thing next to heaven
Sitting by the water
I close my eyes and just begin to think
Letting my brain unclutter

I have a vision of heaven
Not a gray cloud in the sky.
There's the rainbow, God's promise
He made for you and I.

I lay down and stare
At the fluffy white clouds
And nature all around.
Everyone smiling, not one frown.

Everything so perfectly placed.
It's amazing how God made it
So that all of the dirty things,
Can forever be erased.

God takes me by the hand
Welcomes me home
To the Promise Land
Shows me the log cabin, I own

To earn a spot in the most
Beautiful kingdom
Is more than I can imagine

I woke up from my dream
Teardrops rolled down
My rosy cheeks

I couldn't even explain
this dream to anyone
Because it was so breath taking
Felt blessed deep within
To know Jesus, God's Son.

I felt at peace
Began to grin
For I knew my sins,
Had been forgiven.
