And So It Goes

And So It Goes

A Poem by Kelly A. Brown

And so it goes

the life...

it whims past you as

quickly as it came

for what is life,

but

spontaneous births and

desirous

genes

coming together

randomly, not

desired by

God,

a chaos theory

a night out on the town

a kind of

whatever will be

will be

row of baby genes

just one person at a time

getting chosen out of

100

and

1.

Come on!

Choose it.

Choose Life.

Choose Death.

Choose it

now!

For it shall

never come again

so quickly and so

fervently

in your

face as it is

now.

To be honest,

the drunken nights,

the nights of

weed and other stuff

and whatever makes you

happy

and

content,

I did it

for

me.

A night on the town

in

A.C.

in

Las Vegas

in San Fran

wherever it

is, it is the

night and it is

infinite

and magical

and real

and it

makes you write

a thousand poems

and a hundred

lies and it

all

comes down

to this.

I dig it, vonnegut reference I presume?

I love the free-spirited tone of which comes with this poem. Yes, its subject matter is one of seriousness, but rather than take it serious, the narrator prefers making a humourous tale out of it: the choice that lies between Life and Death. The imagery is so warm and enjoyable.
