A Poem by Kelly A. Brown

Millions of feet beneath my feet

lie

all the Haikus,

premium Sake,

Samurais in waiting, waiting for the

sunrise,

I feel infinite in my

small abyss here in the

land known as

New Jersey.

I feel safe.

But, alas

I shouldn't feel safe.

The world could be blown to bits

within a small tank of

fire or

a small

comet, earthquake, tornado,

bomb.

A nuclear

Atom bomb.

It could blow away the land known as

New Jersey and

my lawn ornaments

could just as easily

end up

on the

evening

News.
