Swans on calm waters

Swans on calm waters

A Poem by Daniel Carlin
"

A poem I wrote to go inside my friend's wedding card. Hopefully, it is good enough that it counted as a present!

"

Between the rolling green and yellow fields,
A wide river contours the picturescape,
Soft currents lapping the stone covered bank,
Bright sunlight highlighting every ripple of the stream.

Between the tall leafy trees on either side,
A coupling is taking place on the water,
Soft words are passed one to another,
Bright feathers caressing as they follow life's current.

Between the new couple love sparks and grows,
A fresh radiance lights the valley and it's trees,
Soft words become strong commitments,
Bright futures are delicately woven from these words.

There is a host of wildlife spectating from the shore,

Appearing from behind the old bark,
All envy and jealousy swept away by their obvious love,
All spectators wishing the river stretches far past the horizon.

Any clouds hovering above will pass quickly,

The laughter you entice from each other still the waves of any sudden wind,

The gaze you hold across the water lasting as long as the trees,

The wildlife smiling as you pass by.

Night can feel close sometimes,

But don't be afraid of the dark,

It won't last long,

The beauty of conjoined feathers,

Hands and spirits together,

Tender and lovingly embraced,

Illuminate brightly onto you and others.

Let the calm waters carry you long.

very sweet of you, maybe u can write some personal anecdotes that you encounter with one of them to make it seem more personal and endearing, nevertheless, good take.
