Swans on calm watersA Poem by Daniel CarlinA poem I wrote to go inside my friend's wedding card. Hopefully, it is good enough that it counted as a present!Between the rolling green and yellow fields, Appearing from behind the old bark, Any clouds hovering above will pass quickly, The laughter you entice from each other still the waves of any sudden wind, The gaze you hold across the water lasting as long as the trees, The wildlife smiling as you pass by. Night can feel close sometimes, But don't be afraid of the dark, It won't last long, The beauty of conjoined feathers, Hands and spirits together, Tender and lovingly embraced, Illuminate brightly onto you and others.
