Small and Innocent

Small and Innocent

A Poem by CJ

A red heart,

outlined in black

written in the small of my hand.

There to assure

everything's alright.

But when I look at it,

I see a crack moving through it.

Such a small feature,

so prominant, so fooling.

To tell everyone

a secret, but fake message.

A sign to me, though,

to pose as a goal,

what I truly strive for:

Happiness,

Hope,

Joy,

Love,

Just to be alive,

and to have faith that it's possible.

About
Started out a happy-go-lucky writer who just wanted to embrace all of life in writing. Turns out that it is more painful than I imagined. Tough times turn into honest writing. I never delete a piece f.. more..
