What Do You See?

What Do You See?

A Poem by CJ

What Do You See?

What do you see when you look at someone?

Their eyes?

Body?

Hair?

Friends?

Popularity?

Rarely people look at the personality.

Can you be the difference?

Can you really see me?

Inside, I am different.

Looks shouldn’t matter.

But look at me…..

Me, not if my friends are popular,

Not how I look,

Those don’t count for anything.

Be the change.

Next time you see some really “hot”, “popular” girl,

Get to know her,

She might be an airhead and a snob.

Be different.

Next time you see an “ugly”, “un-popular” girl,

Get to know her,

She might just be beautiful inside. And have a heart to match.

You definitely attacked a prevalent problem within society. Good job.

I find everything about your writing to be profoundly true. A lot of your poems feature the problems of society, such as deception and false looks. You always hit the mark right on with your thoughts and feelings.
