The Sun

The Sun

A Poem by CJ

The Sun

Bright,

Hot,

Energy-filled.

To easily put it,

The sun.

The opposite of lunar,

The sun comes out when we are most lively,

Most of us, that is.

For some aren’t so lucky,

And must sleep,

Miss the light and joyous aura of the sun.

This we couldn’t survive without,

But is sometimes hard to survive with.

The heat came become overpowering,

And burn.

Making your skin turn the color of fire,

The ally of the sun.

It brings us hot days,

But sometimes the days are cold,

And we wish that it could come out,

And we can see it,

To gives us the spirit to look forward to the next day,

Where we might find it again.

It's not bad! One thing I would look out for is that you were kind of repetitive with the word "survive" in the third stanza. I felt like maybe you could have used a synonym like live, go on, etc. Otherwise, good! I loved how you described the sun as having an aura. Interesting description...
