The leafA Poem by AmmiGrowing up through the metaphorical representation of a leaf
Swish, swoosh
Off I go, Following the only flow I know, My ember shade begins to glow. Ascending above the home where I grew, Into the sky all full of hope, Time flies, ever so fast. Clutters, of copper specks, begin to get me vex, Now hidden, within these blemishes, As though a disguise, A thought comes, I begin to realise, That it was just, my eyes, My bronze shade, Which I had acclaimed was just who I was meant to be. As I fall, freely, to the ground Next to the place that is so sound, Home again, now I see, That this, is where I am truly free, and yet, Accepted, for being me. © 2017 AmmiAuthor's Note
