Thunderdrums

Thunderdrums

A Poem by robin vega

As I looked out my window

Into a rainy Thursday night

In the middle of August

It reminded me of you.

Anticipation mixed with tears

And a sense of incompletion

With a dash of melancholy.

But simultaneously, warmth

Fevered showers that pound

And drum a constant static

Onto the back of a subconscious.

Muted feelings gently turning

While a gale tears at edges

But strong walls prevail.
