Dad,

Dad,

A Poem by Mindless Thinker

It's not just the fact that I didn't matter to you.
It's that this will be another case in the file cabinet among my mind to prove my hypothesis
that I simply do not matter...
at all.
And the file is getting too big,
and my heart is feeling awfully small.
So I can't help but wish,
that you would have proved me wrong.

The actions or inactions of others can hurt, but they can also instruct. Sometimes they tell us that the past should be let go. If we don't, the resulting pain is our own doing.
