The Lighthouse at The End of The World

The Lighthouse at The End of The World

A Poem by Cory Scott
"

Short poem.

"
The Keeper Peers Out From Atop The Lighthouse
At The Rushing Ocean Pouring Down
Into The Perpetually Somber Abyss
At The Cliffs of Worlds End
Afar in The Placid Waters of The North
A Ship Unwaveringly Approaches

The Sky Swiftly Darkens
As The Clouds of an Implacable Storm Settles In
And As The Winds Start Churning The Calm Water
The Keeper Turns On The Beacon, and Sounds The Siren
Fog Promptly Immerses The World in It's Haze
Shrouding His Surveying of The Ship
Being Tossed in The Now Violent Water

Rain Pours Down Steadily
Waves Crash Down Upon the Shore of The Small Isle
The Keeper Watches in Vain For The Approaching Ship
Desperately Hoping It Was Able To Change Course
From The Inevitable Demise It Will Face
If It Continues The Same Route

Hours Pass Before The Storm Lets Up
The Fog Lifts, and The Rain Turns Into a Slight Drizzle
Below The Keeper Spots The Ship
Sails Now Furled
The Ship Safetly Anchored Off The Rocks
Its Crew Now Resting At a Safe Haven
At The Lighthouse at The End of The World

~I enjoyed your little story told in poetic form. Lighthouses are like the mother guiding the son home to safely. The caps on all the lines might be a bit annoying for some readers, I would advise using lower case lettering.~
