Autumn's Robe

Autumn's Robe

A Poem by Ebb and Flow
"

As Autumn begins to shed his robe.

"
Gusts of wind swiftly carry away
tatters of Fall's finest robe.
Scattered crimson, gold,
and fire sweep the autumn streets.
His lovely visage hidden
by a hood that has not yet fallen.
He wages love with Summer as
they try to heat things up.
However their love is doomed
as they can only see each, but once.
Summer and Fall love, but one cannot
reign while the other is awake.
The wind however has other things
in mind and carries in a slight chill.
He adds the crispness that Fall seeks,
and ambles along with him.
Fall enjoys the winds company
as they weave a tapestry of beauty.
Crafted from the finest of Nature's
threads and cloths.
Fall wages war with Winter who
has an infinite love for Summer.
Winter, however, may never get
to feel Summer's sweet heat.
For Summer's heart, lies within
the breast of Fall.

wow, nice to be inspired by the wind and weather, to be able to
express it in words however, you've executed the imagery to such
perfection, windswept landscapes, this is beautifully expressed
with classical shades of fall colors, artfully intuitive, excellent readong.

Beautiful piece, again. I would consider breaking this up into stanza for some less intimidating structure appearance, but otherwise, this is wonderful. :)

I love the imagery. It is such a confluence at this time of year between summer and fall!

I do love fall so I was entranced by this piece... I love the entanglement with summer as they transition... not sure what help you need... if you need to add to the ending maybe you should add lines about giving away to winter.

I agree about it not seeming complete...I love the idea though, very beautiful.

Autumn's lovely tapestry falls over the world
and it's inhabitants shiver in it's chill embrace.
