Fatal Hope

Fatal Hope

A Poem by Ebb and Flow
"

Hope is definitely one of the worst and best things that a person can have.

"
Hope leaves a metallic taste
in my mouth like blood dripping
from my tongue, that's been lashed
by words not meant.
Words, which are seemingly harmless,
but when spoken with treacherous lips,
inflect a fatal poison.
This poison, rapidly burns through veins
not meant to carry such pain, but
seem to endure the gravity of this false hope.
What false hope could weave poison
through weakened veins
and eat away at a tender heart?
LOVE!
